About the Australian Childhood Foundation
We speak out for effective protective and support services for children and young people.
The Australian Childhood Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that works tirelessly to support children and families devastated by abuse, family violence and neglect.
Counselling - We provide a range of specialist counselling services for children and young people to aid recovery from the impact of abuse, neglect and family violence.
Therapeutic Care - We provide training to foster carers and residential unit staff to better support and care for traumatised children.
Research - In partnership with Monash University, we have established the Child Abuse Prevention Research Australia to research the problem of child abuse and identify constructive solutions.
Inspiring and supporting parents - We provide ongoing parenting education seminars and easily accessible resources to strengthen the ability of parents to raise happy and confident children.
Education - We provide community and professional education, consultancy and debriefing programs. These programs aim to improve responses to children and young people who have experienced or are at risk of abuse, family violence and neglect.
Child abuse prevention programs - We run nationally recognised child abuse prevention programs that seek to decrease the incidence of child abuse and raise awareness about how to stop it even before it starts.
Advocacy - We speak out for effective protective and support services for children and young people, including lobbying governments to introduce legislation to better protect children.
