Childhood Hero Dress Up Day - 23 June 2010
On Wednesday 23rd June 2010, on Childhood Hero Day, students from primary schools throughout Australia will dress as their childhood hero to fundraise for Childhood Hero Dress Up Day.
Students are asked to bring $2.00 on the day with 50 per cent of all funds raised going to the school and 50 per cent coming to the Foundation. All funds will go into providing specialist counselling to abused children to help them recover from the trauma of abuse, neglect and family violence.
The Collingwood Football Team, Vixens Netball Team and Fuji Australia are proud supporters of our Schools Program. The school that raises the most money will win some fantastic prizes. More details to come.
This is a fantastic initiative that encourages children to acknowledge the heroes in their lives, and reminds adults how important it is to be a hero to children, particularly those who need heroes the most.
Teachers are encouraged to include the theme into the curriculum through Show and Tell, art and writing and expression.
Supporting Childhood Hero Dress Up Day are local heroes, John McCarthy from the Collingwood Football Club and Renae Hallinan from the Vixens Netball Club.
